One of the great things about where I live is that it offers so many things to do despite the horrible weather at the moment. Just walking the dog on one of North Devon’s beautiful beaches doesn’t seem so bad even when it’s blowing a gale. North Devon attracts so many visitors all year round and it does drive me a little crazy during the summer holidays at how packed the area is but lucky for me I’m fortunate enough to enjoy what the surroundings have to offer all year round.
After moving in early 2014 to a small seaside village, myself and hubby have grown quite fond of one of our local pub/restaurants, not only do they serve great food (a big fry up and the Sunday roast, being my favourite), they do a lovely cup of coffee and indulgent hot chocolate, perfect for warming you up after a walk on the beach.
The Instow Arms, North Devon
Instow beach is a really popular choice for dog walkers and The Instow Arms sits right along the beach front with amazing views right across to Appledore. This pub/restaurant is perfect after a stroll with the dog as you can also take them inside whilst you warm up with some great home cooked food or whilst enjoying a hot drink.
As you can imagine The Instow Arms is very popular in the summer, with an outside seating area looking directly onto the beach and a great beer garden which is a perfect sun trap. They have a seasonal menu and the food is home cooked style with produce sourced locally. The menu certainly provides something for everyone and mixed with a great atmosphere, this provides a great place to eat, drink and soak up the beautiful scenery.
Have you every visited Devon or planning a staycation in the area? Would love to hear your plans and must see things in the area.
