Spring Sun in Majorca

Majorca is one of those pretty common places for Europeans to holiday especially if you are looking for affordable sunny breaks.  Saying that, this small Spanish island is a great all rounder if you are looking for something for the whole family with lots of activities on offer or just lazing on the beach.

Cala Millor, Majorca

My last visit to Majorca was on my sisters hen party, now I know what you’re thinking getting wasted in Maguluf with the girls.  Well actually far from it, we may have enjoyed a few drinks but the short break involved lots of relaxing, exploring the area and a lovely boat trip along the coastline.  We stayed in Cala Millor which was your typical beach resort, lots of restaurants, shopping and gorgeous beach.

Blue Sea Don Jaime Hotel

Our hotel was Blue Sea Don Jaime in Cala Millor, a reasonable hotel if you are on a budget and a good base to visit the coastline resorts.  We stayed all inclusive and although the food was your average buffet style, they had San Miguel on tap and the food was plenty to fill you up if you were heading on a day out.

We took a boat trip from the beach which took us along the coastline to Porto Cristo.  I always love boat trips, not sure why I love them so much but the sun and gorgeous blue sea was one of my favourite parts of trip.  The boat stopped for a few pictures of the Cuevas del Drach (Dragon Caves), which was an amazing sight, one of the largest underground lakes in the world.  We had lunch in Porto Cristo and set back to Cala Millor after a few hours.  The boat trip was reasonably priced and overall was about a 4 hour trip.  The boat featured a glass bottom so you could check out the sea bed but the water was so clear you didn’t really need to venture too far to appreciate the scenery.

We visited in Spring and the weather wasn’t scorching but a lot warmer than the UK.  I still managed to get burnt on the boat trip.  I took lots of pictures and have tried to pick the best ones to give an insight to the area.  I would say if you are looking for some cheap summer sun, Majorca is a great place to visit and explore.

Have you visited Majorca?, it’s definitely a hot spot for cheap summer sun.

We have enjoyed reading your text about your days in Mallorca, and we are very happy if you liked the boat trip. We are from this area and we love hiking all the seaside from our airbnb home in Portocristo to the north (Cala Millor area) or to the south, to discover the natural areas where you can enjoy the silence of the nature and the little beaches you can find in the hikes. We have a twitter acount if you want to see the pictures of our routes 🙂

Hi Pedro, it was a fab holiday and very interested in hearing more about using the AirBnb service as looking into doing more destinations with a home from home feel. Thanks for the tips on other areas in the country, hopefully we’ll be back soon to experience them 🙂

I found this post very helpful and makes me slightly more excited!
I’m planning on going to Majorca on the 1st of may if I can find a late deal for my 21st Bday. No ones given me any experience thoughts on it, so when I noticed this on bloglovin I sneakily had to read it in work when no one was looking!
I love the first and last photo.
