Oxfam’s No Fashion Victim – Thanks to ParcelHero

When a French fashion enthusiast and keen Oxfam supporter from Nantes, France decided to donate their collection of leading French designer’s clothing to charity Cardiff’s specialist Oxfam Boutique was the obvious place! The two cities’ are twinned and have close links with the donor who has visited the Welsh capital many times. The remarkable collection includes dresses by Kenzo and Chacok amongst other Parisian fashion houses.

However, the cost of shipping the 22 top fashion items to Cardiff proved prohibitive – until leading international couriers www.ParcelHero.Com offered to ship the dresses free of charge.

Boutique manager Claire Samuel now plans to stage a fashion auction to showcase the clothes. Claire says: ‘It’s fantastic, I tried for two weeks to find a way that we would be able to obtain the collection within our small budget. I even considered hiring a van and driving the 608 mile round trip, which would have been a 20-hour drive, again too costly. It was such a relief when ParcelHero offered to transport the generous donor’s collection for no charge. Now we can organise a charity auction event to raise as much as possible for Oxfam.’

ParcelHero’s MD, Roger Sumner-Rivers, says: ‘When we heard about Claire’s problem we were only too pleased to come to her aid. We deliver to over 220 countries across the world, and it made sense to make use of our service and ensure the full value of this incredibly generous donation goes to Oxfam’s life-saving projects.’
