Yesterday was my first summer wedding and this was the ultimate excuse to get myself a new summer dress. I love vintage inspired dresses especially the fifties swing styles and this the perfect opportunity to buy something a little different from your average guest outfit. The bride and groom also love the 50’s era so naturally the theme would be american rockabilly and pinup styling.

Now as a bargain hunter, naturally I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a dress yet I wanted this outfit to be something I could wear again. After searching the many boutiques online, I found a fabulous selection from Lindy Bop. There were lots of style choices including wiggle dresses, swing dresses and pretty tea dresses.
I love colour and wanted something I could wear which would see me through the afternoon and into the evening, so I decided on the gorgeous Audrey Totally Tropical Floral Print Dress. It was the perfect combination of cute rockabilly style, bright summer florals and a dress I could wear on other occasions.
Now I can’t forget the shoes. I’m a little fussy when it comes to heels (I mean I don’t normally wear them), so they had to be comfortable but pair perfectly with the dress, I found another great brand called Shoe Box that have lovely styles at really affordable prices. I chose some classic black patent peep toes which complimented the 50’s style.
This dress received lots of compliments and the quality of the material, styling, print and detailing is fabulous for the bargain price tag.
