Are you still looking for the perfect place to spend New Years Eve? Have you thought about taking a short break to the South West, there are are heaps of fabulous locations to ring in the New Year and taking a little holiday will see you totally refreshed for the year ahead (well maybe after the hangover!). You may not give the South West your first thought when deciding on a place to celebrate New Years Eve but if you’re looking for a great night out with family or friends, there are some of the best places in the UK to see in the New Year.
I’ve chosen some of the best events taking place in Somerset, Cornwall and Devon to celebrate the best night of the year.
Clevedon Hall, Clevedon, Somerset
This 19th Century historic mansion in Clevedon will be hosting a lavish New Year’s Eve to remember. The evening will be a Masquerade Ball, for intrigue and celebration as guests see in 2016. There will be live entertainment from a local band, before an impressive fireworks display at midnight!
The whole of Dartmouth comes alive on New Years Eve with fantastic street parties, carnival processions and a spectacular fireworks display. This picturesque harbour town will certainly give you a night to remember and a lovely short break.
The Cornwall Hotel, Spa and Estate, St Austell, Cornwall
This lovely hotel is also holding an impressive event to welcome 2016. The luxury hotel will be welcoming guest and non-residents for a celebratory dinner dance. A lavish seven course meal will be served, before music and dancing, followed by fireworks.
Bristol, North Somerset
If you want a great city adventure, Bristol has plenty of New Years Eve events going on. If you want a little magic, take a look at the Smoke and Mirrors show or enjoy a range of live music and exciting nightlife options around the city. You’ll never be far from a great party.
So if you are still undecided, I can highly recommend considering a great party in one of the many fantastic South West locations, whether you want some peace and quiet or a raving party, the regions have tons on offer for everyone.
Have you ever taken a holiday over the New Year break instead of staying at home, let me know your favourite locations!
