The new year is well underway, so how are your new year’s resolutions going? I’ve seen lots of tweets and many so far have been making small changes whether it be to diet, fitness or general well-being and I know we are only a couple of weeks in but lots of people are already seeing the benefits.
Myself, as I mentioned in a previous post have been upping the fitness regime and trying to change my healthy diet. Both so far are going well, I do have the occasional treat but overall I am making the best choices and seeing major benefits from the exercise I have been doing. Making a change is something that should be done for the benefits of your long term life goals, as a nation we are getting unhealthier with fast food, low exercise levels, increased tobacco and alcohol consumption and general life stresses, it is difficult to get out of this rut.
I have been taking small steps to a healthier lifestyle as I always believe that dramatically changing your habits (unless you have extremely strong willpower) leads to eventually falling back into bad habits when something goes wrong, upsets you or just general overindulging happens. If you are a smoker, giving up such a strong addiction can sometimes feel like climbing a mountain, just that habit of raising a cigarette to your mouth is such a hard one to break but changes such as the electronic cigarette give the small but significant changes to help break the habit, something that I did when I left university.
Any of our everyday vices whether it be a cheeky glass of wine after work, that lovely chocolate cake tempting you in the office canteen teamed with no exercise and the stresses of everyday life can lead to fatigue, bad skin, physical and mental health issues.
