Over the past few months I’ve been going to the gym and although I have my self conscious days overall I have been feeling happy about my body shape and more motivated about getting fitter. As the new year brings resolutions of getting in shape, the retailers are always there with products for the individuals good intentions. Today I was food shopping in Sainsbury’s and right at the front of the clothing section was their latest activewear collection. It was quite nice with infusions of pink to feminise the traditional black workout outfit. It got me thinking, I’d actually love some new fitness clothing.
I already have the perfect sports bra from the Freya Activewear collection but I generally like to cover up with baggy t-shirts whilst working out so choosing some activewear that is better to work out in would be perfect. I have chosen some of my favourite pieces from recent fitness and sports collections and going forward I hope I’ll be more confident to wear some of these styles.
The new year is the perfect time to pick up some new fitness clothing pieces as retailers exploit our good intentions to be healthier and get fitter. The collections are getting better and more wearable whilst retailers and supermarkets are picking up the pace with breathable, moisture control fabrics all at affordable prices. Sometimes with gym fees, healthier organic foods plus buying new gym clothing, the pennies soon add up making getting fitter seem a bit less motivating. Although supermarket and high street equivalents may not be as heavy duty as leading sports labels, they give you a good base for starting your fitness regime and give you a feel for the styles you feel comfortable wearing before committing to the expense of a top sports label.
I’d love some recommendations for my future sports clothing buys, do you have a favourite fitness style or label, i’d love to hear your thoughts.
