About 6 months ago I decided I needed to have a change in my diet and exercise habits. As my 30th birthday was approaching I thought it was the perfect opportunity to really start making changes however due to severe lack of motivation and excessive bad habits taking over my progress has been at best slow to non existent.
Just recently I had some major news in my family that made me rethink my attitude to health and making the most of the precious time we have on this planet. This in mind and with the support of my husband I decided that I needed to make some major changes. My husband has recently taken up a healthy lifestyle and 6 week challenge with a popular fitness and health trainer in my local area and is already seeing great results so I thought why can’t I do that!
I’ll be the first to admit I’m addicted to junk/convenience food and I absolutely love coffee but do I really love that more than feeling healthy and happy, surely not! Well at first I thought I could continue to live like a student and that getting older wasn’t really affecting me physically but the weight has been creeping on, I feel uncomfortable in my clothing and most of all, I don’t feel like me! I’m not saying I want to be like I was when I was 21, I’d like to think I’ve grown up lot since then (maybe not!) but now I have a lot more things to consider and think about including my husband, my family and me!
As my husband is already doing brilliantly with his new healthy challenge, I decided it was logical to join him on this journey. The 21 day jump start challenge is a health and physical wake call to help kick start a new change in habits and lifestyle. It’s not all about killing yourself physically to burn the calories (although exercise is a huge part of it) it’s all about changing bad habits and motivating yourself to lead a healthier lifestyle. This winning formula is delivered by Marc Kent and although his studio is based in North Devon, you can join these kick start group via his online community.
Tomorrow is day one and I will be starting a massive change in my diet as well as attending my first fitness class. I’ve been warned it’s going to be tough but making big changes was never going to be easy. At the end of each week I’ll be updating you on my progress, the good, the bad and the ugly and hopefully achieving some of my lifestyle change goals.
If you want to check out Marc Kent and the 21 day jump start challenge, take a look at the website for lots of information http://barnstaplepersonaltrainer.co.uk/
I wasn’t brave enough to post my before picture with my tummy out so this a picture of me now and hopefully at the end of this challenge I’ll be able confident enough to show you my before and after pictures.
Good luck to everyone in the 21 day jump start community taking on this challenge too! It’ll be worth it!
