Today saw the first Connect & Create Fest hosted by The Cove Boutique in the Pannier Market in Barnstaple. This event celebrates lots of independent sellers, handmade goodies, delicious street food and local musical talents so I was eager to see what great things this festival had to offer.
The Cove Boutique is a vintage clothing and art store based in North Devon and has gone from strength to strength offering unique fashion, individual jewellery and art pieces. They organised this new festival celebrating a range of producers from bespoke artwork, delicate jewellery, awesome clothing and unique gift and home wear. There were also some great street food sellers and my hubby had a tasty burrito from Calaca Loca, there were so many delicious food options with lots of the gluten free too.
The atmosphere was great and it was the perfect event to get you in the mood for Christmas. I hope this will become a regular festival as supporting local and independent sellers helps put money back into the hands of local people. It also gives everyone a unique and special range of goodies to choose from, great for everyday items and gifts.
Take a look at some of the fantastic local producers and great independents and give them a like. You’ll find a host of interesting and unique things to buy and tasty treats to sample.
I’m going to be heading to Bath Christmas Market next week and I’m so excited as this is my first visit. I can’t wait to really get into the festive spirit and check out all the cute trinkets and traditional market stalls.
